FN#63 Index

Our 63rd Quarterly Limited Edition for the summer of 2024 is dedicated to organizing your time, life, and the things that you love.

Based on observations of, and conversations with Field Notes customers, we’ve identified specific ways that lots of folks are using them. Our goal was to make this edition, well, a lot more useful.

To that end, we have created two “Index” 2-Packs of 56-page Memo Books with covers made from Neenah’s lovely, no-nonsense, “Weathered” cover stock printed in “Omnibus Grey” stamped with red, blue, or green foil, and bound with matching staples. The insides are printed in two colors on Lynx Opaque Ultra text stock from Domtar.

All the “Index” Edition books contain a handy pocket in the back for receipts, baggage claims, a love note, or an emergency $20 bill. Also, due to the pocket, the middle spread of each book reveals something that has never appeared in a previous Field Notes Memo Book: a secret fourth staple.

01. Proudly printed by the good people of The Graphic Arts Studio, LLC, Barrington, Ill.
02. Cover: Neenah Environment Smooth 80#C “Weathered,” with a thick, brute force application of “Omnibus Gray” soy-based Superior ink and Crown 6600 foil.
03. Innards: Domtar Lynx Opaque Ultra 60#T “White” with a fine, two-color application of “Omnibus Gray and Red” soy-based Superior inks.
04. Cover and innards printed on a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102S six-color printing press.
05. Bound with a Muller Martini 6-pocket saddle stitcher with cover feeder.
06. Corners precisely rounded to a 3/8″ (9.5mm) radius.
07. Memo book dimensions are 3-1/2″ × 5-1/2″ (89mm × 140mm).
08. FIELD NOTES uses only the Futura typeface family (Paul Renner, 1927) in its materials.
09. All FIELD NOTES memo books are printed and manufactured in the U.S.A.
10. Limited Edition of 15,000 of each 2-Pack.
